Crocodile Excavation Report

Day 1 Results:

Excavation started with plastic hammer and chisel.  Very small pieces of rock taken from top layer with no sign of fossils.

Day 2 Results:

Finally unearth some bones.  I believe I have discovered a new form of fossilization as bones are plastic.

Day 3 Results:

Plastic hammer deemed worthless and metal hammer implemented.

Skull discovered.  Appears fully intact.

Crocodile's foot found inside the skull.  Perhaps crocodile got desperate for food?

Day 4 Results:

Crocodile completely unearthed.  Bones appear to have been scattered throughout rock with no apparent pattern.  Perhaps a micro-tornado stirred them up?

Attempts to reassemble the bones have failed.  It would appear glue is required to fuse them back together.  Who knew?  Updates will follow with the acquisition of a proper adhesive.

Have to move to a new apartment, so the reconstruction of the croc is put on hold indefinitely.  He'll probably get lost in the move and someone will really excavate his bones in a hundred years and be dumbfounded at how a fossil turned into plastic! ;)

Okay, so the remains have sat in a box for the last two years.  Perhaps the next time I move I shall reassemble the bones. :)
